I'm installing updates which I've missed over the last decade away from GPL and I'm curious about this one. Does it replace the original 67s? I have read that the physics are different so how does this effect my lap-times on GPL Rank? If I use this MOD, should I create a separate player or will it replace my default '67 player?
Sorry to have to ask but I would hate to upset my current, albeit outdated, GPL installation.
Thanks in advance.
So how do you brake with these cars? Feels like I'm locking the wheels at less than half the brake pedal travel (G25 pedals). And brakes go red on every corner. When I enter stadium sections, the little lamp on dash stays red through the whole thing, only getting back to green after T1.

I've been spending the last three weeks slowly getting back into GPL after a ten year break. My aim, this time around, is to enjoy racing rather than hot-lapping, and today I did just that.
The intention was to learn an historic track which I hadn't driven before and to be competitive against the AI. Well, mission accomplished. I've just had an absolute blast with the AI in my 1966 McLaren M2B. Really close racing and I felt the fear and excitement of the original drivers.
So, a huge thank you to the everyone who keeps GPL going. This is what it's all about. Lee, I'm loving the head-movement patch now that I've got it to work.
Now for my next challenge in the McLaren: but which track should I choose?

I have been running GPL for many years and have accumulated all of the mods, most of the tracks and all of the other things that have been made for GPL over the years. Consequently, the GPL installation on my computer is/was a complete mess. I have decided to clean up the installation and maximise all of the tracks and mods to the best versions. I am still sorting through all of the 67 Season mods and have been studying the instructions for the other single seater mods for the 1960's before installing them. Who reads the instructions??? I have seen references to the fact that the other mods have files inside of the track files that work with the particular mod. I never knew this.
What does it mean for tracks that are not included or connected to the mod? What is the file and what does it provide for the mod?
For example, if I decide to use a track like LeMans with the Canam cars, what I an losing out on by Lemans not being a recognised CanAm track? In my new installation of GPL should I just keep to using the recognised tracks for a particular mod? Will this provide a better racing experience for the mod?
I have reached the conclusion that I will probably make separate GPL installs for the CanAm cars and the 1955 mods, but I intend to have all of the 1960's mods in one instance.
I am ready to be enlightened in this matter.
