Open Sim Wheel (Direct Drive Ffb)
Posted Jul 19 2016 - 03:08 AM
I`m thinking about purchasing an open sim wheel kit. Only I`m not able to find if osw is compatible with GPL or NR2003.
Does anyone know if this is going to work?

They made the FFB for Grand Turismo, for which the DFGT wheel was made, which works very well with GPL.
So just a guess it will work as Immerision seems to be one of or the one major player in FFB.

more information can be read here http://ascher-racing...el-Tutorial.pdf
But if there are no gpl or nr2003 direct drive users I think it will be difficult to know it will work for sure.
When a 1200 euro steering wheel isn`t compatible with GPL or NR2003 then I will have to pass.

I've been slowly, very slowly, gathering components for an OSW
(wire and small parts for the drive etc).;
looking for used servo motors at this time,
I'm following your post with interest and have noticed your questions

Xsimulater.net is a great community, the have confirmed that NR2003 is working well. It think GPL will do ok also then.
I`m curious if brr`s ffb patch http://srmz.net/inde...?showtopic=4226 will help the feeling with osw..
I will keep you updated!

there aren't many DD-wheel- drivers around here, I guess.
So why not contact Dennis Reimer directly. He's on facebook and otoh still technical stuff moderator over at virtualracing.org's forum. If you don't have access there, simply ask your colleague Svend (congrats on your new job, btw.).

But it's working now and I hear it's pretty good!

Yeah, thanks man! I'm working full time at Heusinkveld now and it's just perfect. I make sure everything is in house and ready for the production to take place and I manage the floor so to speak. But it never feels like work because it's all simracing related! And I get to build simulators and computers and basically that's my job. I never have to 'work' so to speak. Plus we're all old friends over there so, again, never feels like work!
