Hi

Recently I reinstalled GPL on a new computer. Everything works amazing, but whenever I do a race, the AI start just too fast. I'm relatively fast during qualifying, enough to get top 5 spots in most races, but once the flag drops, pretty much every AI gets a WAY faster start than me.

It happens to me on every mod, from 65 to F2 mod.

I would think it's cause I'm slow off the starting grid, but I'm starting off the same way I did before I reinstalled the game, and I didn't have this problem before. I've tried to mess up with the setups, and I got faster, but still way behind the other AI at the start.

Any ideas on what can I do to solve this?

I think that explains their start behaviour. Race the AI in 36 fps would be my advice.

change this value :
base_race_start_hiatus = 18.0000 ; base time (in ticks) of driver reaction at start of race

maybe something like base_race_start_hiatus = 25.0000

in GPLaf2 for f2
in GPLa67 for 1967 ... etc

Does anyone find that the AI start on time, but they roll away very slow for the first straightaway? If I am on the front row I can easily beat them to the first corner.

I am using default 36fps

Yes. Depends on the circuit but there are two causes for me - one is when the grid is too tightly bunched and they slow each other down to avoid causing a collision. The other cause is physics based, which I mostly managed to resolve at Monza but is causing the laptimes to be way too quick, so I need to slow them in the corners somehow.
