Just got back from Duns, in the Scottish Boarders.

Great day out. Jim's cars present, outside the Jim Clark room. Opening of a new extension(for his cars) lots of dignatories, old family/friends, fans of all ages and of course in memory of Jim's passing. Packed in like sardines.

Then onto Chirnside, for another exhibition, in the local community hall, with a remembrance service in the church and the laying of reaths, at Jimmys grave. With attendance by Clive Chapman, Bob dance,Ian Scott-watson and Peter Windsor.

The latter was so sureal. Stood at his grave, with many others, I was touching shoulders with Clive Chapman and Bob Dance laying reaths. Imagine doing that, with a modern F1 driver.

Then to finish, a call to his old farm. Walked up the drive, to his old front door and a special moment just thinking of the great man.

I was definitely moved, just staring, to know Jim had graced that space, where I now stood.

Will upload some photos, in coming days 👍

I was there 50 years ago and today...

Made a trip with my bicycle today, the first real warm day.

Thanks for sharing. I made it to Duns for the world championship celebrations in 2015. My friend and I went to his final resting place afterwards. We were the only two there at the time until an elderly gentlemen came over from one of the houses bordering the cemetery to talk to us about his memory of watching the great man being laid to rest all those years ago. It was really surreal standing there; quite moving.

I saw him win in '66 at the Glen. Still hard to believe he is gone. As they say, they don't make them like that anymore.

Was that race the one which saw the BRM H-16's one and only Grand Prix win?

Just a few photos, from my Jim Clark memorial day, last Saturday, at Duns.

I have some more from the laying of reaths, at Chirnside church. Plus Jim's farm visit.

Will upload the rest, in coming days.

Thanks all 👍
