That track is 'in the oven', too.  Right, Sergio?  :)

you are right greg, even at beta stage it is very funny, maybe i can released as beta so any GPLer can use it and dont stay on my hard disk.
what do you people think about this?

Is the beta completely redone from the alpha?
I've never actually tried it but from the generated map here, it seems to be really off when compared to google maps / earth.

Here is the area in google maps: https://www.google.c...m/data=!3m1!1e3
(hold ctrl and drag the mouse to change camera elevation etc).

If you go to it in google earth you can probably spit out decent resolution 3d imagery which is available for most, if not all of the track.

The alpha looks like it's based on these maps:
http://f1.imgci.com/...S/4500/4566.jpg
http://www.grandprix...trk_pescara.jpg

whereas from the google earth roads i see, it looks closer to something like this:
https://upload.wikim...nstreetmap).png
http://www.effanasys...it_Pescara.png?

Now, I haven't done any real research on the circuit and am quite ignorant of it, so the roads could have changed but to me it looks more like the first two maps are just not accurate (never trust maps hehehe).

Anyway, you can get 3d data for that area, as shown, so hopefully that is useful :)

Another track I noticed that is really off is Syracuse. However due to parts of it no longer existing, the first part of the course I can only estimate - the earliest aerial photo I could find was from 1988.
There is 3d imagery of it too - and the back "straight" as it is in gpl is anything but straight in real life!

Anyway, it's cool to see things being worked on, old track creation is a magical thing :)

So that's a yes then :P

Looks really nice :)

Seriously check google earth, the 3d lidar data is actually a lot better now and seems like it could be quite useful!

how close to 'finished' is a beta?  60%?  75%?  90%?
to me, a beta should only be released if the community has the chance to offer help, or suggest changes, assuming its only around 50-60%
if its 90% complete, who among us, could tell?

So, when is Mugello being released for the GT67 mod? ;) :P

(Of course I am joking, that would be an insane amount of work - mind you Sergio did start work on the whole Mille Miglia a few years ago hahahah)

yeah! actually i made like 300 Kms of road, i still believe Mille Miglea can be done, just with help of 100 track builders :D :punk:  and a huge library of italian buildings, trees and people :)

Beta usually implies feature complete with bugs to iron out in software terms. If I'd translate this to GPL tracks I'd say drivable surface is done nut trackside graphics are missing.
