What! I litterally came to the forums to post another link of a Lotus 49 wheel and gear knob I found. Crazy coincidence!

Nice wheel there, Tormentor! Better even than my link

Very nice setup and a wheel I too plan on buying some day. I already have the one from Moto Lisa but it doesn't appear to look as authentic as the one from Jacob:

Out of curiosity, what was the size of the actual real steering wheel on the Lotus 49? 14" or 15"?

From what I read on "Theme Lotus" by Doug Nye, it was a 15": Graham used to complain about it because it was as small as the 33's and 25's and he found hard to work in tight bends because of how much torque it needed to be turned.

Never ever. 15" are somewhat over 38cm, the complete dashboard on the Lotus49 is somewhat over 49cm wide. So you would have only 5cm space on the left and on the right. You can easily drive a bus or truck with that thing, but not a 49...
You may not forget, the steering wheel i have is a 100% replik of the original steering wheel, inkluding the badge. And i saw the Lotus in Goodwood and this year on the Solitude Revival, the wheel is spot on.
Have a look at this:
