My G27 shifter broke so I bought a new TH8A which installed properly and I tested it in the control panel. I disconnected my old G27 shifter.

I modified gplshift.ini and started GPL thru GEM+2.
GPL opens the calibration window but when I move my wheel the axis2 calibrates rather than axis0.
I cannot set GPL to recognize my wheel as axis0. But it does recognize my TH8A.

In GPLSHIFT.INI, I tried NONE,1.USB, 2.USB, 3.USB, AUTO but nothing works.
If I disconnect my TH8A, GPL will recognize my G27 and work OK

In Windows (7), I put G27 as preferred device in advanced settings of Game Controllers.

Logitech profiler shows G27 as ID1.

I ran again GPLshiftpatch.

USBDeview shows G27 on Hub 0, Port 5 and TH8A on Hub 1, Port 3.
I connected both devices on various USB 2.0 connectors on the PC. I even tried the USB 3.0.

No success

Any idea?

Daniel

Why do you want it recognized as axis0? It works perfectly as axis2 on my gpl install,  I have a TH8 RS shifter with a G25 set :)
The pedals are calibrate as axis4,5 & 6

here after my gplshift (sorry, can't attach files currently)

Check this part with your own gplshift.ini. You might have both values at 0

[ GPL AXES ]-------------------------------------------------------------------
Share_All_16_AXES = 1    ;OPTIONS: 0 1    ;EFFECT:
;1 = Share ALL GPL 16 AXES between 3-5 active Game
; Controllers, instead of only 2 (first & last)
;e.g: St. Wheel(3) ext. Pedals(5) Shifter unit(2/0)
; or Joystick (2-4) used by FFShifter software
;--------------------------------------------------
DisableUSBshifter2AXES = 1  ;OPTIONS: 0 1    ;EFFECT:
;1 = Will prevent ACT LABS USB Shifter connected to
; single USB Box (1-IN-1) using 2 AXES, so these
; can be released to other game controllers e.g.
; extra 3 Pedals set, using 5 axes

Thx for the info.
I made the changes you suggested and it worked almost completely.
The wheel is OK (axis2) and the shifter works but only in sequential mode even if TH8A control panel shows it in H mode.

And I lost the FOV incar view: I dont see the steering wheel or tyres in 3 monitor mode; and see only the top of the steering wheel in 1280x1024. Changing GPLShift or GEM FOV (45 to 85) doesn't change anything with GPL view. I cannot use the arrow keys anymore for FOV adjust.
It is like driving with binoculars.

GPL doesn't recognize the wheel's buttons except for the paddles which I can use to look right or left.
I uninstalled the drivers for the wheel and shifter but it didn't help these problems.

To get my TH8A installed on Windows 10, 1) I removed the G27 and the TH8A. 2) Then uninstalled the software for the G27 and the TH8A. 3) Run the install software for the G27 and get it working. 4) Run the install software for the TH8A.

I found with my ASUS motherboard the G27 worked fine on one of the USB 3.0 ports and I put the TH8A on USB 2.0 adapter plugged into the motherboard.

I will be glad to get on TS2 and help you with this process tomorrow or even tonight, just leave me a message here or on Speedgeezers.

SOLVED
Thanks a lot for the info guys. The problem is fixed.
What I did:
-Removed gpl shift
-Removed gplcXX.exe, gplmxx.exe and gpl.exe
-Recovered gpl.exe from gplshift backup.
-Disconnected G27 and TH8A
-Uninstalled software and drivers for G27 and TH8A
-Rebooted PC
-Reinstalled gplshift and gplshiftpatch
-Connect G27 (in USB 3.0)
-Connect TH8A (in USB 2.0)
-Changed gplshift.ini parameters
-And started GPL thru GEM and it worked

I love the TH8 it’s smooth and precise and we get used to the longer throw pretty fast.
I even calibrated it so that gear 7 becomes gear 5 and that gear 6 becomes reverse in case I go to 7 by mistake rather than 5.

Thanks again

Good point.
If I forget to recalibrate I'll be stuck. I can always lengthen my 5th gear but will be less efficient.
It's then probably better to keep the standard shifter 7-gears setup.

Nice add-on for the th8.

But If I decide at the last minute to use a 6-speeds car, I will have to change plate.

It would be good if something existed that you can fit into the existing hole and be able to remove it fast. I saw nothing like that on the web.
