Bo, that doesn't stop the messages when someone enters or exits the server.

I have the same problem, at me the culprit is : gplshift

Everything is fine with the unpatched exe

Not according to my tests (all with openglv2 btw).  GPLShift on or off makes no difference.

Brocky - that does ring a bell, try and reduce the font size of the red messages and see if that works? :)

Yes that helped here.
I get only small hickups from those red notifications in the background as they are invisible with no letterbox.

    ;--------------------------------------------------
[ GPL Font ]-------------------------------------------------------------------
Auto_Set_GPL_Font_Size = 0  ;OPTIONS: 0   1   2   3   4     ;EFFECT:
;1 = Automatic setting of GPL text size, dependent
    ;    on GPL resolution, will e.g use optx15b & 16b
;    font at resolution 1280x1024 instead of the
    ;    default size 9b & 10b

;2 - 4 = Also Auto. setting, but with bigger text

    ;2 = e.g 17" monitor in high resolution
    ;3 = e.g 16"
    ;4 = e.g 15" in 1280x1024 (optx20b)

;Please notice that these setting has no effect on

Thanks Bo!!!

I haven't found the NVidea settings..................... till now :hithead:

ATM it works great on a fulHD screen with your settings :bowdown2:  at Targa 36fps solid.

After the race on friday,  I will setup my 3 monitor setting to the W10 machine and test further.

Question:
Can I use these settings for all programs??

Thanks very much Bo.

But you only have 2x Antialiasing and AF is off.  I got my nVidia GTX760 so that I could have very smooth graphics.  Now maybe I've done overkill for GPL, but AA at at least 4x or higher and using AF makes the view much better.

OK, I remember someone saying once, that the V2 rasterizers are not very good at reading text, so that must be the problem.

It seems to me that the fix for this is to just use as low an Anti Aliasing setting as you can stomach.  With the big screens and high resolution, AA at 2x seems to be OK and as Bo says, I'd rather have a smooth framerate above all else.

Of course all this only comes up with online racing and when someone either sends a text or when someone quits a race (can't avoid seeing that message).

in GPL options, can't you just turn off chat?
I think it might be this one (forgive the italian)

I did some testing with various combinations, checking/unchecking this options nothing change
The only way (at least for me in OpenGL mode and using GPL Shift) it's as explained by Cookie in the post #20, set to 0 this option: Auto_Set_GPL_Font_Size = 0
The written in red in always visible, but very small nut this in not a problem, more important NO fall FPS when anyone write in chat
Thanks

I'm having this problem now. :( I swapped my Radeon in this computer for a GTX. I tried all of the above suggestions except lowering the Anti-aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering. There's a major hit to the frame rate from any messages using OGLv2. D3Dv2 gets a steady 32 fps (instead of 36) with only a drop to 31.5 when a message is displayed. What a nightmare! If not for the messages, I can run GPL at 60fps 8X AA and AF=8 (3 levels).

Greg try my NVinspector save file for the GTX960, I do have just small glitches.

Remove the .txt and edit the path with editor.
