Nice add-on Lee. Even though I'm mainly a hotlapper, I can see how this adds yet another degree of immersion to GPL. Great job!

Could you ever do a version of your weather patch that lets the player choose how bad the rain is? I race offline and find the AI performance varies with how wet it is, and I can't adjust their speed to allow for it if I don't know exactly how wet it is going to be.

The current Weather Patch uses a random fog density throughout qualification and race and cannot be set by the player.  However, the AI speed is automatically changed based on the fog density so it should adjust for lower player grip.

You should be able set the AI Speed without the patch by using GEM+'s AI Speed setting.  Then when you use the patch, the AI will automatically slow for you.  Be sure you are not using an AI Speed of 0 or driver.ini files with GHS settings other than 1.00.  See here:

I've got another Weather Patch in the works.

A very useful patch for me, as I now know the meaning of the values in the Weather patch, so I can create a new low-grip (aka 'more realistic') version of the F2 mod without any fog displaying. It's interesting that after 000000'ing the fog out, it's still generating random levels of track grip (which I still haven't cracked yet, though I suspect they're defined in the long set of numbers at the beginning...). I assumed all these values would be linked, but the fog generation there is clearly graphical. This stuff is really quite cleverly written.

Thank you Lee for this wonderfull addon.
Now I am ready on june 17th for a 2.4 Hours (42 laps) on LeMans with the Mirage.
Applied with Night and Pitstop Patch. They work together?

Greetings, Marcel

Yes, they should work perfectly well with each other.  However before doing a really long race with them both, I'd recommend you test at a short race just to be sure.

This is bloody impressive.  Who'd have thought GPL would get day/night transitions before Assetto Corsa!

I've tried, it WORKS!

But I think a certain percentage connected to sunrise/sunset would be better than just 60sec (if possible).

I tried it the other day & was pleased to see the ai slow at night too :)
I would like a longer transition from day to night though.

"... see the ai slow at night too"

This does not happen.  There is nothing in this Patch that affects the AI.

Thank you Lee!  This is a great add on for the GT's.   I've found that I can even simulate the day start to night finish for the Sebring 12 hours too.

That statement is for the Weather Patch that varies the 'weather' with fog, reduced player grip and AI speed adjustment.  -  http://srmz.net/inde...opic=9961&st=75
This Topic is for the Night Patch.  This 'only' varies the appearance of night with cycling fog density throughout a session..... synced with all online players, too.  There is no adjustment to the player grip or AI speed.  Strictly a visual patch.
