Driver's Cam Too Far Foward In Opengl V2

Is there any way to solve this? FOV setting in GEM doesn't change the forward position of the camera, and GPL Car Cam editor allows you to change all cams except for the driver's cam.

Nope, not without cutting off some the the edges. You should be able to make that adjustment with your TV/Monitor if you still want to. They usually call that expand, zoom, etc.
Plus, the black bars contain useful text information.

Summary of the problem again: on 1920*1080 I loose a part of the cockpit view on the bottom. I have the full view on 1280*1024, I used to have the full view on 1920*1080 but I don't anymore.

For comparison, a screenshot from someone else to show what I'm missing (atm, I can see this bottom part too on 1280*1024).

What setting could cause me to loose that bottom part on 1920*1080 now? I am 99.9% sure I used to see it on 1920*1080 before.

It was a bit of a monologue, but sometimes I need that to solve problems.

But I guess you figured it out already

Then I use GPLshift to fine tune the view a little more, you'll probably need to edit the highlighted bits in the config file:
[ ZOOM ]-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Zoom_In_Out_Mode = KA ;OPTIONS: OFF #.BUT #.POV KA ;EFFECT:
;OFF = ZOOM In/Out CAR view support Disabled
;BUT = You select a game device # HERE, and buttons
; below (up to 4 #) for Zoom In/Out/Reset,
;POV = Point Of View hat:
;KA = Keyboard ARROW Keys:
; Down = Zoom In (back)
; Up = Zoom Out (forward)
; Right = Zoom Set to UserDefineFov position
; Left = Zoom Reset to default position (78)
;--------------------------------------------------
;N.B. If you have choicen POV or KA then you don`t
; need to setup any button # below
;No game device # below, ONLY buttons (up to 4 #)
Zoom_Out_Button = ;Select a # for zoom out
Zoom_In_Button = ;Select a # for zoom in
Zoom_Reset_Button = ;Select a # for reset zoom to default position (78)
Zoom2UserDefineFOV_Butt = ;a # for setting ZOOM to "UserDefineFOV =" position
;--------------------------------------------------
;OPTIONS: ## ##.# ;EFFECT:
UserDefineFOV = 86.2 ;Field Of View in degrees: minimun 45.2 - max. 86.2
;(78.0 = Default position)
;You can use the keyboards HOME key to save the
;present FOV ZOOM positions and the setting will be
;uset next time you starting GPL, if you still have
;enabled this [ ZOOM ] support, and will overwrite
;GEM+2´s Field Of View setting
;--------------------------------------------------
[ DRIVER VIEW ]----------------------------------------------------------------
Up&Down = 1 ;OPTIONS: 0 1 ;EFFECT:
;0 = OFF
;1 = Move the Driver View up or down by using
; left SHIFT key with ARROW keys:
; Up = Up
; Down = Down
; Right = Not uset
; Left = Back to default position
Forward&Back = 1 ;0 = OFF
;1 = Move Driver View forward or back by using
; left CTRL key with ARROW keys:
; Up = Forward
; Down = Back
; Right = Not uset
; Left = Back to default position
;Notice: These 2 functions has no effect in LOOK
; AROUND TrackIR Vector Expansion mode.
You should find your up and down arrow keys move your FOV, shift plus arrows move viewpoint up and down. Press control plus arrows up or down and it should move the camera forward or backward.
That's assuming you're using GPLshift!

I wanted to use it for changing the driver position (left ctrl+arrow keys) and I know it did work at some point, but somewhere after installing the Night mod I couldn't get it to work anymore

Haven't searched for a solution yet...

I've now got separate GPL installs for each mod, I found that for the mods where gplshift wasn't zooming I could copy and paste the entire GPL folder in Windows and it would magically fix gplshift. Don't know why.... very odd.

I use 1920x1080 with an FOV of 45, and then use GPLSA to move the view back so I can just see the mirrors. That's about as close as we can get to a real view of the car and track.

Does anyone have a tutorial on how to do this? I want to see what the sim looks like with the black bars not there.

Some of the filetype extentions like .exe can't be attached straight away.
They need to be 'masked' with a zip program.

On a real car, it's very easy to turn your eyes or your head left & right. You won't see both mirrors and beyond at the same time (or only peripheral at the most), but it would be no problem with some eye/head movements to get them in view. Lacking things like a head tracker, blowing up your FOV a bit is a good alternative in a game. I now run 1920*1080 with a FOV of 89° in GEM. I can go down to 78° and still see the mirrors, but then I don't see a lot of the shifter anymore. It also depends on the car. The Lotus is wide, the Brabham fills only half of the screen width at 89°.

But I'll check out the alternative using GPLSA. As long as it doesn't seem as if I'm sitting on the engine block, it might be a workable alternative. Thanks for the download link.
