I was at a site yesterday, attempting to follow the an install procedure for GPL. It seemed to have a link to a core.ini file to download/install into the GPL directory. When I clicked on it to DL, the file itself opened up. So, I thought I could just copy/paste that into my GPL install folder. It would not allow me to do that. I'm in over my head here... help...

I have Win 10 with my newly built rig... Asus Hero XI motherboard, i9900K cpu, nVidia 2080ti video card, etc... I was considering getting the Sim Raceway wheel... would that work with GPL, if I ever can get GPL installed?

You don't need to add the core.ini - it's included in the installation. I assume that you have the GPL CD or equivalent and that you're doing the beta v.1.08 installer method?

I'm pretty sure that any controller will work with GPL.

Just reading about the Sim Raceway wheel see in the FAQ "it works with other games, it functions just like a game pad would."

Basically, it seems a big game pad with lots of buttons and it is already configured and dedicated to playing one game.

Based on other comments there, it might take some or a lot of tedious clicking to configure for use with Grand Prix Legends.

Much more appropriate if interest is primarily GPL, possibly for around the same money, would be to find a used wheel and pedal set featuring force feedback, which many GPL users consider a very important feature.

Otherwise, a "rumble pad" from a pawn shop or CL might be a less expensive and more capable alternative?

Any links you can point me to for trouble-shooting GPL install....  I can tell now this is going to drive me NUTS...

EDIT... Do I need to leave the GPL cd in the drive?

No, you don't need the CD running once GPL is installed.

I looked up that wheel and I don't think it's a good choice. Especially, for GPL. I'd get a wheel that comes with pedals.

Yes, but only for the install, then no.
Have you installed GPL, or not yet?

Guessing you will be using the 1.08 Installer?

This is easier than you think.
Or are you done already?
