Cpu/gpu Repast With Grizzly Conductonaut : Warning

23 Jan 2021

Posted by Alekhine in Off Topic Chat
Hello,

I am sharing this bad experience in the hope that other players will notice the problem.

My gaming laptop was very hot, in gaming I had a PROCHOT throttling (CPU 90° C).
So I looked for an effective solution to rebuild the CPU and GPU (nvidia).

Grizzly Conductonaut is a liquid metal that is very efficient at dissipating heat in the cooling system.
Indeed I had gained -12° C !
But this product can spread...
I had put a special varnish around the electronic components, that was not enough: a micro-drop rolled a little further, there was a short circuit, the nvidia GPU s  'is broken.

I managed to restart the PC by disabling the nvidia component, now I have the other integrated Intel Graphic GPU left.  It's a disaster for the GPL, D3Dv2 doesn't load big tracks, and opengl flickering in the menus ...
It was a very expensive gaming PC, I'm really disappointed :(

[Patch] 1955 Mod Understeering Ai Fix

Posted by PTRACER in GPL-55 Mod
GPL 1955's AI cars use too much steering lock in the turns, giving the impression they are constantly understeering. They do this in fast turns and slow turns alike.
This mod remaps the AI's steering ratio to reduce this effect (see below)

It does not affect AI or player physics and is safe to be used online with players who do not have the patch.

Thank you.

107%

21 Jan 2021

All,

Having recently got back into GPL (to allay lock down fever) and re-engaging with GPLRank I found the 107% page very motivating. I seem to have plateaued with the Lotus (for now!) so thought I would try another chassis but realised that the 107% page did not allow me to just show times for a single chassis (unless I am wrong and would be happy to be corrected). So I thought I would put together an Excel spreadsheet to give me more flexibility in the data shown. In case others might be interested here it is...

I enjoyed writing this so hope you find it useful...

PS - Had to zip the Excel file and Instructions to allow me to upload it.

Mybroga S56

21 Jan 2021

Posted by mcmirande in GPL-"Hey, anyone need a racer?"

Hi guys,

in Mybroga we're starting our 56th season, with some rule changes that are detailed below (in Spanish and English respectively). We still have some slots in the Division B, but if somebody with speed for Div. A want to join us (or return), we'll be happy to find the way to accomodate him.

We race Tuesdays (Div B ) and Wednesdays (Div A) Nights (GMT -3). We'll use the Mod1968 late (as explained below) and race in int. long mode.

Our schedule is at GPL-Weekly (http://www.freeleo.h...p?p:leagues/10/). First races are at Albi in February 9-10.

We're also in Facebook in the site "Mybroga (Grand Prix Legends)" También se habla español :P

See you on track!

Cheers and Long Live GPL!

------------------------------

REGLAMENTO / RULES S56

REGLAMENTO 2021 (in English below)

11 carreras (campeonatos semestrales).

Puntuación (14, 12, 10, 9, 8…1) más 1 punto por largar, 1 por Pole y 1 por Fast Lap.

Chasis divididos en grupos por velocidad:

G1: Brabham BT26 y Ferrari 312/68.

G2: Lotus 49b, Matra MS10 y McLaren M7A.

G3: Honda 301, Eagle T1G y Brabham BT24.

G4: Matra MS11 y BRM P126/133.

G5: Cooper T86 y McLaren M5A.

G6: Brabham BT20, BRM P261 y Honda RA302.

Sanciones:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

RULES 2021

11 races.

Mod F1 1968 Late.

Divisions A and B with the same mod and tracks.

Int Long races. Qualifying of 1 hour and race of about 45 minutes. Free Shift-R ONLY in the first lap and, after that, in pits. Shift-R beyond these conditions are forbidden in the Div. A (DQ) or have a charge of 7 seconds (Div. B).

Points (14, 12, 10, 9, 8…1) plus 1 for starting a race, 1 for Pole Position and 1 for Fast Lap.

Chassis by speed groups:

G1: Brabham BT26 and Ferrari 312/68.

G2: Lotus 49b, Matra MS10, and McLaren M7A.

G3: Honda 301, Eagle T1G, and Brabham BT24.

G4: Matra MS11 and BRM P126/133.

G5: Cooper T86 and McLaren M5A.

G6: Brabham BT20, BRM P261, and Honda RA302.

Drivers by speed groups (A1, A2, A3, B1, and B2)

The driver’s rank will be based on their recent results but will have some subjectivity to prevent gross mistakes. It will be announced in GPLWeekly and Facebook before starting the season. If a driver thinks he should be promoted or demoted of category, his request will be considered by admins and marshalls.

B1 and B2 drivers may race in the Div. A joining the qualy after the first 30 minutes, only if there is some available slot, using the same car they used in the div B. Their credits only will be affected by their races in the Div. B.

Credits system; credits given before starting the season:

A1 drivers = 4 credits

A2 drivers = 22 credits

A3 and B1 drivers = 33 credits

B2 drivers = 44 credits

Credits and chassis usage:

G1 chassis: cost of 4 credits each race started.

G2 chassis: cost of 2 credits each race started.

G3 chassis: free. No credits earned or paid.

G4 chassis: earn 2 credits each race finished.

G5 chassis: earn 3 credits each race finished.

G6 chassis: earn 4 credits each race finished.

Examples:

All drivers may freely race with G3 (Free) chassis through the season, without taking care about credits. That involves both changing among G3 chassis (Honda, Eagle and Brabham BT24) in different races or using always the same car.

A2 drivers, in their first season with this system, will have enough credits to race all the championship to use G2 cars. Note, however, that they will receive only 11 credits at the start of next season and, therefore, certain “economy” will be necessary to plan future season(s).

A3, B1, and B2 drivers will have less restrictions given by the higher amount of credits at seasons start.

. Credits will be cumulative from a season to the next and, therefore, they may be saved to use them strategically.

. To earn credits will be necessary to finish the races with the proper chassis.

. In case of accidents preventing the races finish, the invested credits or potentially earned ones will be lost.

. “Freezes” will not affect the credits and the involved drives will remain with the credits they have before the race.

. In no case the credits may be negative. If a driver uses a chassis with some cost and becomes negative, it will cause a DQ for that race.

. The available credits of each driver for each race will be announced in the forum of GPLWeekly (http://www.freeleo.hu/weekly/index.php) corresponding to each race.

“Prizes”:

. The champion, second and third of the A, and the champion and second of the B: will choose once a track for the next season.

. First three in the A will win 3, 2, and 1 extra credits. The first two of the B will win 3 and 2 extra credits respectively.

. A2, A3/B1, and B2 drivers will receive 11, 16, and 21 credits at the end of the season that will supplement those saved during the championship, to start the next season.

. New drivers in the following season will start with the same 4, 22, 33, or 44 credits of the drivers starting from the present one.

Driving tips:

. As we always say in Mybroga, our rule number 1 is to have fun and let others have fun. Thus, it’s essential to drive cleanly, trying to move in ways depending as little as possible on the opponents. We must consider that our visual field is lower than in real life and we have factors, such as the lag, that make “wheel to wheel” drive more difficult.

. In case you’re losing a lap, be very careful of the “Pribluda”, rear-view mirrors and blue flags, to give room to the lappers as quickly as it can be done safely.

. Train the “lateral view” to compensate for blind spots when fighting positions.

Penalizations:

. Faults will be penalized with a “BOG” (back of grid). Minor faults will receive a warning, being two warnings equivalent to a BOG.

. Marshalls may penalize also with the subtraction or transferring of credits from a driver to another one.
