Maybe a little off topic, wonder if anyone still play DIRT1 (Colin McRae: Dirt). A few weeks ago I made a ReShade profile that removes most of the yellow stuff, and it looks just as good as DR. Here is 2 videos I recorded:

Lancer Evolution IX @ Uriarra Forest Australia, Peugeot 207 Cup Super 2000 @ Ockfen Germany:

Subaru Impreza 06 @ Lake Ono Japan, Lancia Stratos @ Cunconi Italy:

Awesome list! But everything else from that game looks soooooo boring... About 23 4 left / 4 rights and then the occasional 3 right.

Oh and no VR :)

https://store.steamp.../DiRT_Rally_20/

The Deluxe Edition was released on 22nd of Februar. The Standard Version will be released on 25. Februar 2019.

So far I have done the Historic Rally with the Fiat 131 Abarth Rally and raced in Poland and Spain and I love it. Posted Image
Nice graphics and good physics. For me it is a true successor of DiRT Rally 1.

Good to hear you like it mate! VR is coming and I see D-box is working sort of. Will get it as soon as VR is there.

Remco, I don`t have VR but I have tested VR at a friends with Assetto Corsa and Project Cars 2. The immersion is great! :)
It might get it one day when the VR technology has more improved, but then I will also need a more powerful PC.

-----------------------------------------------

Meanwhile I have spent many hours with Dirt Rally 2.0 and I still love it.
The only little downside is the FFB. Dirt Rally had a better feeling when the underground changes form gravel to tarmac and cobblestone for example.
It feels like there are missing some FFB valules at Dirt Rally 2.0. But even so it is very addictive. I hope Codemasters will work on this.

The default FFB settings of Dirt Rally 2.0 for my THRUSTMASTER T500 RS wheel are way too strong.
I have tried several settings, also the FFB hack you can find on the internet, but the best feeling I get atm is by using the settings of Jon Armstrong (see YouTube video). I use his exact values for the Thrustmaster profiler and in game and the cars feel better. Not perfect yet, but much better.

-> by Jon Armstrong, Dirt Rally 2.0 Consultant & professional Rally driver
-> I guess his settings work fine with all THRUSTMASTER wheels

Well, I spent close to an hour on it and I hate it. It is sooooo bad it's almost a joke. Like you said the FF is basically a left/right effect with no road feel. Crazy. But worst of all I feel like the steering points the nose of the car instead of turning the wheels which then push the car. It just floats left and right. The rear decides to break loose at given instances, but you can't hear or feel it going. Still no multi-monitor support. STILL ghost windscreen wipers! Still a clutch that doesn't work on starts. And that co-driver is just the worst. Sitting at a desk reading lines. After I slid over the finish upside down and backwards, he was still busy telling me what a good job I'd done. Just awful.

Great replays though!

Codemasters Statement on FFB

Hi all,

Thanks for all of your feedback so far. Just to let you know, we're working on a patch to address some of the most pressing issues that have been raised here. As soon as I have notes on confirmed fixes, I'll share them with you ASAP.

We're also looking into FFB as a priority, as we're aware a lot of you have raised concerns about how this feels. However, we just want to make clear that there is no easy fix for this; anything we change will affect all vehicles, surfaces and peripherals, so we have to be very thorough to ensure any changes we make will be positive across the board.

Cheers,
Christina

DiRT Rally 2.0 - v1.4.1 - FFB Update

https://steamcommuni...887005473605079

Quote

16th of May 2019
Force Feedback changes:

The latest update to arrive to DiRT Rally 2.0 this morning - update 1.4.1 - is primarily focused upon updating the Force Feedback for steering wheels. After looking into comments about the feel from all parts of our community, we’ve changed the way the ‘Suspension’ setting works to try and exhibit the behaviours that you've been requesting. For this update the slider has been set at a default level of 100 for all devices, but this can be changed to suit your preferences.

If you prefer the way things felt previously, then simply head to the Input section of the Options & Extras menu, select your device and then adjust the ‘Suspension’ slider in the Vibration & Feedback tab to 0.

We want to give a huge thanks to the entire community for their feedback and patience while we've looked into implementing these changes - especially to those of you who've taken the time to come back to us with incredibly useful, nuanced feedback about your FFB experiences. It's worth mentioning that while this is the first big update to the FFB, it's definitely a work in progress and we plan to refine the feeling further. Please - let us know what you think.

IMO the FF has been improved. It feels better now.
Remco, maybe you want to give it another try? :)

DiRT Rally 2.0 All Graphics Settings

https://www.guideoui...phics-settings/

Quote

Welcome, guideoui.com visitors. In this guide, We try to focus on DiRT Rally 2.0 All Graphics Settings. While writing this guide, we pick up many pieces of information from several sites for you. We hope that this guide will help you.

DiRT Rally 2.0 All Graphics Settings

Graphic Settings

Display Mode
I prefer to use Windowed Borderless, this has the advantage of making it easy to switch between gaming and other programs like Sound Mixer, Recording tools, Youtube or whatever..

VSync
ON – My monitor doesn’t support higher hz/fps then 60 and on my machine it doesn’t look good when VSync is off.
Using VSync ON also has the benefit of lowering the power usage / noise of the GPU

Multisampling
4x MSAA looks really nice on 2560×1440 , especially rocks and trees has less hysteresis / sharp edges
Use CMAA if you need more performance, though its not as nice as 4x MSAA

TAA
OFF … ALWAYS OFF !!!
I don’t know what this foul setting from hell is supposed to do, but the whole game looks like Nintendo if you enable it. !!!
Advanced Graphics
Quality Preset: Custom

Shader Detail
HIGH – Never use LOW, it will break all shadow effects and make textures look like ::crap::.

Texture Detail
ULTRA – This setting mostly consume GPU RAM and if you have plenty, just turn it up.

Reflections
HIGH – using ULTRA has a high cost in rain weather, while High looks plenty good.

Screen Space Reflections
ON

Shadows
Medium – You wont notice the difference when driving, and Medium looks quite good. Anything higher just ads finer detail and cost much performance.

Night Lightning
ULTRA – You might tweak this down if you get bad performance at night.

Ambient Occlusion
HIGH – I couldn’t tell the difference to ULTRA, and High looks plenty good.

Advanced Ambient Occlusion
OFF – It cost too much and didn’t add enough detail.

Particles
ULTRA – This makes smoke and effects look good, tweak it down a notch if you need performance

Advanced Blending
OFF – This feature cost a LOT of performance and only makes trees look better. 4x MSAA is much cheaper to use.

Weather
High

Crowd
Medium – anything higher cost A LOT of performance, but medium looks good. I think there is a performance bug because i dont see much difference, only in frames per second.

Cloth
High

Mirrors
High

Vehicle Detail
High – it doesn’t seem to cost much to run high, but you might get more fps in replay mode.

Track
Ultra – you might find some performance here, but not a lot.

Object
Ultra – also a bit of performance to gain from lower settings…

Trees
Ultra – It seems that there is little difference between lower settings and ultra. I found that there is a performance bug with trees that cant be solved by lowering tree-details. just keep it high.

Ground Cover
High – makes the game look pretty and doesn’t cost much to have on High

Skidmarks
ON – they dont cost much and makes the game look more real.

Motion Blur
ON – This is mostly a preference thing. only a few fps if turned off.

God Rays
OFF – I found them very distracting

Chromatic Aberration
ON – Makes some details look nicer

Bloom
ON – VERY IMPORTANT !! to keep this ON. Without it the light-engine doesn’t work properly

Lense Flares
OFF – I don’t like them, my eyes are not a camera… turn on if you like.

Light Streaks
OFF – Also dont like these..

Lens Dust
OFF – I prefer off to get clean screenshots .. hehe.. clean… get it ?

Brightness
The optimal setting is when the darkest logo is BARELY visible.

I have a calibrated monitor and can easily see the black logo at 1.00

At 0.8 it’s pretty much gone, so for me it’s between 0.8 and 1.00

This is the ending of DiRT Rally 2.0 All Graphics Settings guide. I hope it will help you. If there is wrong or you have suggestions, please let’s know and comment us. Have fun.
