Tracks, Players(includes setups), can be copied over. GPL has a rather straight forward file system if you dig into the GPL folder. So keep the old install, as a backup. Install a fresh one from the demo and gradually move over the individual track folders as needed. Player folder can be moved as a whole, worst case the player wont load then you create a new one and just copy over the player.inis(PBs) and setups.

I would rather use the GPL Installer Beta 1.08 to update a fresh GPL game instead of the GPL 2004 Demo, because the GPL Installer Beta 1.08 has already newer, better files included than the old demo, like graphics updates.

For my tastes the 1.08 installer installs too many options all over the place you have to hunt down by hand if you want a lean GPL folder. If you dont care about that 1.08 is fine.

Problem with iGOR chat
Sometimes your chat nickname can have unrecognized characters. Try changing the nick. Generally try to stay away from symbols or spaces, although underscore seems OK. This is true with your driver name in GPL's Player Info menu too.

This is a heads up to anyone who, (like me as of today), thought of returning a recently purchased Logitech G29 because the FFB felt like driving a car with a steering system made of sponges.
First tried the FFB3 patch which messed with everything. Had to uncheck it quick.
Tried FFB2 patch, which was maybe a little better? But still not at all good.
This morning decided to not drive until this is figured out.
Spent some time learning how to return the wheel to the seller and get something else.
Then giving it one last shot opened Logi Profiler (?) and wandering around found and unchecked "allow applications to control settings."
Incredible instant difference!
Pretty much the spongie wheel feeling is gone.
Guessing brr's patch is still applied?

Have been happy enough to keep the wheel since unchecking "let apps control settings."
This also so far eliminated occasional clunking sounds in FFB motor and chunky spikes coming through wheel.
Pretty sure the FFB2 patch is working but haven't unchecked it to find out.
Now figuring the wheel is working pretty good except none of the buttons programmed with keyboard shortcuts respond when in-game and on track.
Onward thru the fog
