gentlemen, I am having trouble understanding the walls in the GPLTRK, even using the fantastic "GPL Track Creating - The Beginners Guide Part 3". Every time I change something the asphalt track is in an unwanted place! GRRR

Hmm, you need to explain a little more than that
Can you maybe post some images to clarify your issue?

Thank you Ginetto  by return!1

yes, next time i'll take the picture, i hung up when i was at the height of happiness.
but this is my goal, i will spend some time on this adventure, we don't have many clues from Brazil, and i wanted to see some old ones that no longer exist.

Of course, we have to highlight and thank the work of "Pablo Fernandez" in Interlagos !!!

I'm going from memory here but the main issue with GTKtrk is that the walls originate from the Left wall, but their extend is defined from the centerline. It takes some getting used to but I like to look at it as the furthest wall extending out from the left wall and everything inbetween covering over the ones further to the right up to the specified point.

Hope that helps visualized the situation a bit.

I think you just need to follow Guru's guide by the letter; that's what I did back in the days but instead of making an Oval, I made Fiorano :)

Fiorano was really your first try to create a track?!

Wow! That's why you are still creating brilliant tracks and I didn't even manage to create an Oval. :D

Yes. Where do you get the "correct" number from?

Yes it is.
You need to adjust all the mismatches though before to change the scale.
I can see from your screen shot that you started horizontal and arrived a little downhill :)

To correct the orientation mismatch, you copy/paste the mismatch for the section 0 to the calculator and divide it by 2
then add that to the curvature of the last curved (or some other  that you prefer) section of your track.
Once you done that, you will need to zero all the mismatches from there up to the last section.

It's not that hard, zero all the gaps along the track up to the last corner and adjust that to fit the final straight piece to the start. Bit trial by error but when it comes to lateral offset but orientation is one calculation.

For scaling you just multiply the relevant parameters by 1000/2114.6589 or ~0.47. So if the straight is 500m long now the right length would be about 235m. For corners the parameter should be the radius. I suggest a spreadsheet for that, oh and you'll have to degap the whole track again afterwards again.

You answered something I also didn't know, hehe.

I thought the total length could be changed only in gtkmaker :/

Thanks :). Marcos

You going to need to cut curved sections apart when adding more details. This will introduce further gaps, so for now single digit gaps aren't much to worry about. That is to say dont make yourself made chasing them down since you'll introduce more in the editing process. The final gtk that gets converted to trk shouldn't have them though.

You are using the wrong compiler; you need trk23doZ not the old f.
Then it seems that the compiler is not in the same folder of the build files you created; you need to have all the build files in the same folder together with the 3DO that you add to the TSO file; this way the compiler will not complain and will produce a [track].3DO :)

For the picture you posted about the gaps being still there; you should check the section 0 for the eventual 'real gap'; 1gpl unit is not a problem (a few really) while you are working on the track.
As Michkov said, you will need to remember and 0 all the positive gaps and all the orientation mismathces before the release though.

Thanks Ginetto.

if i used gtkmaker to make the track, does that mean that only the last section needs to fix? or all sections yet?

Using GTK Maker you will never be able to connect the last section to the first one without gaps; the rest of the sections are fine with just little gaps that don't need to be clean for the alpha and first beta stages.

The gaps that the 2 have show up into the first section but to fix them you need to change the several sections that are on the last part of the track (usually from the beginning of the last corner up to the finish line).
Hope now is a little more clear than my previous sentence; sorry for that... :tomato:

In fact, the last detail is from the new smaller track, now with 1000m.

Some links to the trk23doZ I found are broken.
