First impressions, feels and looks much like GSCE. Like with GSCE, it's hard to get in a decent online session, as most servers are PW-ed. Also most servers have many aids options on. (myself only auto clutch)

Also a disadvantage for me is my old MSFF wheel, that is only 270degrees, so I have to lower the steering lock angle and run out at tight turns (same for me with GPL having strg hack off).

The driving experience is great, but as with GSCE I like the stockcars/closed cockpit mods best...I tried out the additional CART mod tho, it's together with F3 my favo open wheel mod so far...

It runs slightly worse than GSCE, tweaked it for a solid 80FPS, but still it feels like stuttering a bit, despite trying to read and tune things...it has gotten better tho...

I bought it and like it!
Feels and looks good.

I fell in love with the Formula Retro category cars.

But also the Lancer Evo Rally events and the Super Trucks are great to drive.
So much more to explore....
and many new Southern American tracks to learn...

FPS are fine here.
Also wheel settings (Thrustmaster T500RS here)
Haven`t tried online yet.

THE CARS and ALL TRACKS list attached.

Yep. Exactly. Haven't tried the new Formula Vintage (GPL era) yet, although the comments I have seen are good.

F1 Retro is fun, somehow I find it easier with AMS than GSCE, maybe I finally found the right control settings for my gear and style as well (somehow my throttle didn't work right and jumped immediatly to 20% input)...tried most mods now, and must say the rallycross is real fun...

Wished I could hook up online in some hardcore races (maybe only auto-clutch :P) ;)

I hope you're watching the Olympics and the cycling event, because a lot of those streets are similar to the old Gávea track!

does the 67 cars are all looking correct, in size, ride eight, skins ? Have they been all completed from scratch, or are they using only one car as a base for the other cars ?

Reiza sadly don't have any licenses for the 67 cars.  There seems to be one basic chassis, based on the Eagle which is fitted with either a V12 engine or a V8.  When fitted with the V8 it is lighter but less powerful.  There are two different noses - one with the beak and another more conventional. The same generic cockpit is used for both which isn't closely based on a real 67 cockpit.  The cockpit seems a bit sparse and lacks that lived-in detail which the GPLEA cars have .  The skins are very loosely based on the 67 skins.

The physics seems to closely match GPL in terms of spring stiffnesses and ride height - indeed the ride height is a bit higher than GPL.

The 69 cars are simply the 67 cars with wings.

Given the tiny budget they had its hard to be too critical but in no way are these cars a replacement for GPL IMO.

Sadly John Henry was a fan of Papyrus Nascar games, not GPL.
Its hard to believe another milionaire, or company, will invest the passion and money to make anything that surpass GPL on its terroir, complete vintage series.

That being said Im drooling for the 1955 mod to be released!

I just want one sim to create a historical series and I'd be all over it. I don't even care what it is. A national series would be cool if that's cheaper.
I'm sure way more people are interested in historical based racing games that they give credit for. It's just that the more you perpetuate myth that no one is interested, the more people without any knowledge of how circuits and cars used to be just dismiss it as "something boring" because that is basically what the developers are telling them.

I knew nothing of historical racing before I played GPL, and it was it that got me interested and I was amazed at how much better, interesting and more satisfying the circuits in particular were. Of course cars with rock hard tyres, rubbish suspension, no downforce or electronics always help :)

None of the developers these days seem to understand the value of creating a series of anything. It's all so piecemeal. And to the consumer that just makes everything feel rather awkward and pointless, and sad to say it devalues the products a quite a bit.
It takes away any atmosphere or depth of learning about the different vehicles in the series. In fact you can learn a lot about the history of racing just from GPL - not that all of it is completely accurate of course :D

Is there any other sim recreating the increase of grip in the ideal line while cars are racing? I think not... Not even iRacing, I think...

Maybe unlicensed cars is a small price to pay comparing with that feature... and the "wild" sense when driving Automobilista cars.

Simbin's GTR was the first to do this back in 2004. The feature was retained for GT Legends in 2005 and GTR2 in 2006. In 2010 Codies had this feature in F1 2010.  rFactor2 had it when it came out in 2012.  pCARs, released last year has the feature and iRacing added the feature last year.

Maybe someone could please explain why this is such a good idea that it has become so popular?
