I tested 55 mod for a few days. And noticed that braking is rather unusuall. At high speeds brakes are fine, but at low speeds it just wont stop. Are there any usefull tips how to brake at low speeds. Thank you

The 55 mod has brake fading. There is a little lamp on your dashboard that shows a red , yellow or green light to indicate what state your brakes are in. Red = no brakes , yellow = some brakes and green is full brakes.

OMG Thats great! Thank you!!!

I always thought this lamp was to indicate something with engine.

Thank you. My experience with 1955 mod is getting better and better

I found it best to treat the brakes as you would tyres. They start cold and get hot then enter a steady state. Drive to the steady state instead of slavishly trying to keep the brakes cool. Not sure if that's the fastest way round but it keeps the break points constants once the brakes are up to temperature.

Michikov, that is the best description that I've heard of for using the '55 car brakes in the best possible manner.

Thanks!

Also try to use the "engine brake" by shifting down a little bit earlier.
And when you are running out of brakes entering a very tight corner or a hairpin, shift down to 1st gear even when it is a 2nd gear corner.
Sometimes it helps that you can stay on the track.

Very interesting - what colour is your brake indicator light then ?

360 spin on the approach to the hairpin at Rouen also does the job if executed properly. LOL

I just had fun the other day and managed to execute it few times.

Queston. What happens if someone does it in online race? Are there rules against it.

360 :D

Rules depend on the league you race with.
At GPLRACER we do not have such a rule.

Depends on the track obviously, from the last race at Zandvoort I recall it being Green into Tarzan, Red until Scheivlack entry with a short pop down to yellow just before the crest and then red again for the rest of the lap. The little drags on the brakes in the twists round the back dont really help.

It requires some forsight in traffic and maybe not taking an overtake you'd attempt in the 67s but you make it work and if you are stuck behind another car the brakes tend to get cooler anyway.
