I'm awestruck. Huge thanks to all involved. This is a major addition to GPL's virtual encyclopedia of the world's historic race circuits.

Given how often his name appears has anyone sought the Nino Vaccarella seal of approval?

I'm supposed to be going blackberry picking this afternoon after work but I'm hoping it rains now.

Solo il bello e lirica in lingua locale sembra essere la più appropriata parole per descrivere questo progetto.

Scusi questo cattivo utilizzo della lingua Italiana.

Piccolo delle Madonie, Targa Florio,

Molto bello!
Fantastico!
Stupendo!
Inspiratore!
Favoloso!
Tale enorme tela intricata,

Ciao,

I noticed it said the hi res version hasn't got sound enabled but can be added later. Does this mean the ambient sounds and how can it be added?
Here it is, with the list of the option files that you can find on the website, can some administrator be so kind to put this together with the others, please?
Thanks to Keith and sky for the webpage
and Remy and Ferdinand Sommereder for textures and beta testing

And thank to all this wonderfull community

Quote

targa.3do_light-online version
is a targa.3do to use if the system can't handle the standard version, it has less polygons and less objects around pits area and in the villages; not so many objects are missing, mainly vehicles.

targa.3do_standard versionNOsound
targa 3do same as standard but without sound may give some better performance but with all the objects and the same resolution than standard.

targa_horiz_512x256_LR
Horizon files with a very low resolution, only to use if there are still performance problems.

calta_rock_HR, Cronotower_HR, targa_horiz_2048x1024_HR
Series of High resolution files to improve the look of the track if you have enough power.

targa.3do_HR versionNOsound

A higher polys than the standard gives less blocky curved sections, it doesn't have sound implemented; it can always be added later.

targa.3do_HR version_WithSound.7z
As the above, a higher polys than the standard gives less blocky curved sections, with sound added; top performance systems needed.

GPL_Targa_SERVER version installer.7z
The installer for the server version with the bare minimum included a page0 ad hoc ;-)

That's it, order them as you prefer.

This has been a super cool experience! Double thumb up!!!

Long live, Ciao!

It seems default setup gearings are wrong so copy and paste your nurburgring setup and add one or two clicks longer 5th or 6th gear :)

I´m awestruck. The long awaited track exceeded all my expectations! I´m so happy that Sergio was crazy enough to start this ambitious project and Ginetto and Co. were so talented and persistent to carry on and finish the greatest track of all! You guys have my deepest admiration.  :painting:

I´ve already done a few laps with the 67 Fez (best 37:23 so far but with several shunts and two shift-R:s...) – and I just want to go back and have another lap (it´s very hard to keep concentrated for the whole lap though). It´s truly a magical track where legends were made.  :rally:

Driving through Cerda, Campofelice and Collesano feels incredible. Those photorealistic houses are beautifully made! The high res horizon with those mountains really completes the scenery. And I adore all the details you´ve put in there to make the track feel so alive and credible! It really is like a fantastic virtual tour to the real Sicily.

I´ve attached here a kmz file of the whole track. Unzip it, click the file and it should open up in Google Earth (if you´ve got GE already installed on your pc).

Thank you for the track!

The Targa doesn't load in my GPL.

I've installed the latest version of GEM and the new 67 patch, followed the instructions in the readme (overwritten the GEM exe, applied the patch to my GPL install, deleted gpl67.exe an let GEM create a new one).. but whenever I load GPL via GEM 2.5.32 and click on the green button with Targa selected... nothing. The loading screen is there for ages.. even after 10, 15 minutes.. nothing. Not even an error message.

Must there be a "Long track support" check box in GEM?

I have 380 MB of RAM on my pc.. as I closed GPL via Task Manager, I saw it used already 167 MB of RAM while loading (?) Targa.

gzuf,
try to download the light version and put the files in the zip into your targa folder, it should give you more chances; your system is borderline for Targa...
If you have installed the patches for 65MOD et al. try with them.
You don't need to see any long track support in GEM+, everything is included in the MODs patches :)

To everybody; the track doesn't have any setup included, the default you see is the MOD default;
Akseli advice is good, start with your nurburgring and do the proper changes; when satisfied, please post your setup over at the alternative track database ;)

Thanks! Wow, it finally loaded after 10/12 minutes.  :o
Has some 36 fps areas - but most are 19-24 fps.
I simply need a better PC.

A lovely track!
