Made a lighter version, which helped to gain a few FPS offline with 19 AI cars, however online I kept having screenfreezes/FPS drops just like with the original, lower resolution or less graphical detail settings didn't matter. Not sure what the problem is.

edit: the problem was insufficient power to my videocard, which is solved now.

This version is an idea for those on older lower end sytems and dedicated servers. It works well, it's a 1:1 copy, just with less detail, resized mips and srb's. Feel free to give feedback.

Thanks to Gaus for the track and his permission to release this lighter version.

This little video features the light version for what it's worth.

Quote

Light version:

Unpacked .dat file and resized mips/srb's to max 256x256 when possible and nescessary, keeping sub-im., type and mapp. correctly or close to original. Only with horizontal and sky mips I did set sub-im.=0

I hope this lo-res update will help people with older lower end systems. Pesonally I had FPS-drops online at this track and this made me decide to compress the .dat file, which is about 40% in size compared with the original. Tested and running well at my P4 XP machine. Added a replay lap as well.

Thanks to Gavrilenko Dmitry aka Gaus for the track and his permission to release this light version!

Hello Gaus !

Here is the people's update...

After reading all the topics... :book: ... :book:... :book:... :book:... :book:...

i decide (as usual) to keep the files very small, hoping not to overload the circuit...

Do that :drive1: on your tracks... make me like that... :bounce016:

Thanks for all Gaus !!!

======================================================================

For everybody now...

These files are not mine, no no no...

The "big" one (512x128) is loaded from "Mexico Multi Season Update"

And the two smallest are from Scottie (SS_Spa_graphics_addon_v2.0)

Attached File  borovaya_v1.01_people_updt.zip   412.96K   30 downloads

I hope you enjoy it, even if it's a minor thing... :)

Get me years after - great track, but this light version sounds exactly what I need :)

However, I downloaded the compressed file & extracted the .exe,   but it does not seem to run on my system (Win7 x64).

Is that linked download still working ok?  Otherwise, is it possible to upload again / or provide a replacement .dat  to overwrite the 'normal' one?

Cheers.
Dave.

The download and installer works for me.
Do you get any error message? Which one?
Are you using the latest version of an unpacking software?
IIRC Windows 7 can by default unpack ZIP files, but maybe you want to try the good freeware 7-zip: https://www.7-zip.org/
Have you unpacked the ZIP file (for example to your desktop) and then started the installer "borovaya_v1.01_light.exe" with admin rights?

Beautiful circuit, but we had to replace it in the league orAo for problems to use it online.
A pity because the track is a jewel.

Thanks for the response Stefan - but looks as though my issue is resolved,  today :)
Yes, I had used 7zip,  the .exe was extracted & there was 'some error' (unexpected whatnot or something) when running it yesterday;  even if trying as administrator.

However, upon booting my machine today - I had a popup message from AVG stating the .exe was deemed clean...

Sigh,  so looks as though AV had waded in, where it has not necessarily done so before.

But thanks again!
Now to see if the server remains stable with the slimline version...

Cheers,
Dave.
