There's been a long-standing bug with GEM and the 69-Extra mod, where you can't select setups for some of the cars from the GEM front-end.

With the release of the Can-Am mod, and its use of new setup file suffixes ".ha1" to ".hh1", I thought to myself that there must be some way to fix this problem. After digging around various GEM directories and files, I found a solution. I've already used this solution to fix a similar problem with the Thundercars mod, and now I've done the same for the 69-Extra mod. Here's a copy of the readme file from the attached ZIP, which should explain everything:

This is the readme file for the GEM 69-Extra Setup fix by Saiph (Keith Ballard).

This corrects the problem where you can't select setup files for some of the
69-Extra mod cars from the GEM front-end.

I've simply made some minor changes to the 69-Extra carset data file to
include several lines which tell GEM which files to list.

The amended file is:

where [GPL] is your base GPL directory containing GPL.EXE.

To install the fix:

1. Go to your "[GPL]\Mods\GEM+" directory.

2. Rename the file "69-extra.cst" to back it up. NOTE: Make sure the backed-up file
does NOT have a ".cst" extension, otherwise GEM will get confused. I suggest a
name such as "69-extra.cst.original".

3. Copy the 69-extra.cst file from this zip to the same directory.

4. Optionally copy this readme file into the directory as well, to act as a reminder.

You should then be able to start GEM, select your 69-Extra driver, and be able to
select any preferred setup for ALL 15 cars. When you click the green button and
get to the track, you should have your selected setup on the car, ready to go.

If you should wish to remove the fix for any reason, simply rename the "69-extra.cst"
file (perhaps to "69-extra.cst.new"), and rename the ".original" file to the normal

If you get any problems or need any clarification, please post to the SRMZ thread
where this fix is posted and I'll do my best to help.

I've not needed this until today. I guess that I've been lucky in my car-choice and track combo. I can now edit 1969X Lot 49(1969) Grenzlandring setups in Setup manager. Cheers.
