Hey guys, grats on the mod! I can't wait to drive it, however I'm experiencing CTDs when I click the green the green button to begin driving. Everything works fine up to this point, I've tried with or without the carsound patch, same result... I am, obviously, using the V2 rasts and all the other mods I use work on the same install of GPL  :o

Any clue as to how to fix that?

Thanks very much to all the mod team.

Downloaded, installed and racing in minutes. Only had time to do a couple of laps but it was great fun. Looking forward to spending many hours on this and can't wait until we get some online races happening.

Once again, a superb quality effort from the team Your work is very appreciated by us all.

Happy lapping
David

^ Same as him!

EDIT: Aha! I went ahead with the install, and I've found a new directory in my tracks. Although I had Donnybrook installed, it was in the directory "donnybrk". The installer seems to have created a new directory called "donbro71".

Maybe if people copy their "donnybrk" directory to "donbro71" before the install (and rename donnybrk.dat to donbro71.dat), then everything will go ok without warnings?

EDIT2: Copied over "donnybrk" to "donbro71". RENAMED donnybrk.dat to donbro71.dat. Can-Am mod loads ok, can run at any track apart from Donnybrooke. Clicking on the green flag at Donny gives me "Could not load track". I will continue to experiment....

EDIT3: Can't seem to fix Donnybrooke. One good thing I've found - as with the GT mod, hotlapping seems to be fine with the 60fpsv1 patch! Yay!

The mod installer just checks which tracks are on your PC for the season.ini. Shouldn't give any problems with the installation process for the CanAm71s. There is a new version for Donnybrook in the works and the installer looks for it not the ancient one, same thing as the F2 installer and Sudschleife IIRC.

Yup, the installer only checks it. No harm done. Just proceed. There's a copy of what the mod installs in C:\Sierra\GPL\repository\1971 CanAm\tracks

My 49th birthday is in 2 weeks. A little bit early for a present and to early for X-Mas, too. But: absolute not to early for enjoying by driving!

Thank you very very much for this wonderful mod!!!  :clap2:

OH NOOOOOOOOOOO, ANOTHER ARCADE RALLY SIMULATOR... :rally:

(This joke was a must be, you know who I mean :punish: )

Now seriously:

To be honest, I'm not the biggest CanAm fan, but the whole CanAm-Team did such a fantastic job that I really begin loving these cars! :hat-tip:
It's like Jim Pearson wrote before:

"Big wide cars with lots of torque but huge tyres with tons of grip.

Requiring a different driving technique than for the more nimble drifting GP cars of the day.

Very well done !"

You guys are fantastic!Congratulations for the birth of those amazing cars! :clap2:
Special congratulations to ducwolf, the engine sounds are incredible!

THANKS A LOT!

Now 2 questions:

Is it possible to have mod specific skid marks?

Do you have still downforce by setting the wings to zero degree?

1.  I'm not the expert on that, but I believe the answer is no as the skid mark uses the same .mip for all mods.

2.  Yes, there is some body downforce, but no wing downforce at a zero setting.  BTW, the setup menu limits the minimum wing angle to 5 degrees.
