Hello everyone!

Inspired by another thread (http://srmz.net/inde...showtopic=12830) about everyone's favourite tracks, I just wanted to see what all of your favourite cars are for each mod. :)

I'll go first with the mods that I have played to a significant degree:

1955 F1: Ferrari 555. I hated it at first. I found it extremely twitchy. Then I drove it at some high-speed cirucits and from then on I just love it.

1965 F1: I'd have to say the Cooper T77. I just find it to be an overall well-behaved car. Very nicely balanced. A good all-rounder.

1966 F1: McLaren M2A. From pure behaviour, I would say Ferrari 312 or the Cooper T81. But I just have more fun driving the McLaren. I well remember nailing a lap at Brands Hatch, placing me much further up the grid than I expected to be and just feeling extremely satisfied.

1967 F1, original and historical: Ferrari 312. The car that I've driven most of all in GPL. Once again, it's the most well-behaved car. It does not tend to understeer as the Lotus does and it's quicker than the Cooper, which I otherwise like.

1969: Ferrari 312. This is more of a sentimental thing. I haven't driven the 69's in quite a while, but I seem to remember it being slightly twitchy, which I didn't like at first but like the 555 then tried at another circuit - this time MontjuΓ―c - and then falling completely in love with it.

Overall, for me the general trend seems to be that I like cars that have a slight tendency towards oversteer and, on a more sentimental level, that comes with a badge of a prancing horse.

Agree with the Cooper T77 in 1965 - a superb handling car and the best one to use to learn GPL, IMO.

The McLaren M4A in the Formula 2 mod is also a brilliant car that somehow just seems sharper than the rest.

But my outright favourite is the Alfa T33 in the new version of Sports Cars. It's a beauty in every way, to drive and look at.

The car that brought me 2011 to online racing is in my avatar, it's even better now with the moving wing in SCX

in 1967 I found a ChapF lexan body for my 1:24 slot racing chassis,
due to the first and only winged slot car, I won 1967 our regional championship on a big 8 x slot car track!

Beautiful letter Cookie, for that time my dad gave me for my birthday a Porsche 908 tail long scale 1/32, since that day I was a fan of Porsche.

In general I like the Brabhams, but for the 1965 mod I really started to appreciate the Honda RA272 since last year. It's not the best car, sometimes it feels sluggish and unprecise while at other times it feels very powerful and nimble. Those flaws make it interesting. Had great races with it, but also terrible ones. :)

Yep, I remember the first time I tried the 65's and after the first lap with the Cooper, I knew it was one of my favourite cars.

Perfectly understandable, it's much the same for me with the 1966 McLaren. The imperfection makes it interesting. I would guess that's why some (looking at you, twinpotter and fajanko) like the 1967 BRM, which I personally have never fallen for.

I find that reasonably unreasonable. When a new mod comes out, the first car I try is always a Ferrari. Even with the 55's, where the iconic cars aren't necessarily from that team. :D

I see that some of you have noticed the Mclaren M2B 1966. One day I was driving it and I had the feeling of driving a real car. I do not know if what I felt corresponds to the driving of a Mclaren M2B, but it was that of driving a real car. Some time later, someone else from the pdlr.gaiztor forum commented that he had had a similar feeling with the same car and I was curious about the coincidence. And, of course, I was driving it because its a favourite!.

Nice thread!

BRM (Papyrus original) with its six gears and the H16 engine made it really special for me.
