one thing in this comparision makes me wondering completly. out of lesmo 1 we are in "fighting" distance although i lost a lot ground from curva grande to lesmo 1 and driving a complete other line to there. well out of lesmo 2 and parabolica you was pritty much faster where i think i tried it too slow and high geared in both turns
one thing i recognized in this comparison is that the inner line of corners mustnt be the faster lines . when i look at curva grande and vialone where i took the inner line you went a lot faster while taking the outer line .
a little sliding seems to be more aprobiate in this 2 corners.
one thing that usually bites me yet after some more laps is the shifting especially through both lesmos and the parabolica . too much down and i spin , going only down into 3rd keeps the car stable but is too slow at all
anyways , i go on practicing this car with this setup . I let you know if i get something better and especially more stable over the laps to work.
thank you so far for your replay it really helps to show how it could be better done

I did find 1st gear to very short in that setup and it made taking
the Lesmo's slower than it should have been. The rest of the gears
were fine for me...
For a beginner, your doing well, so keep practicing and you'll
get good times soon.

most prob is still that i dont seem to control the car in 1st gear. so i take lesmos and parabolica in 2nd which might be the cause why this time looks a bit slow.
anyhow, most prob is still the kind of uncontrollabity in 1st gear , especially in corners. i really have hard times yet to manage that in 2nd.
i really hate if the car is gonna get loose in the rear
´btw , could anyone give me a kind of standard time for a quick lap around croft short ? beside monza its my favourite test track yet and i would like to have comparison times for the cooper
thanks for all the help here again

Why should i.... 2nd has enough power, and 1.34 in the cooper isnt that bad at monza...
But it could be improoved
keep the line, drive smooth, slow in, fast out, yaddayadda you know that all... but it works.
Here is the WR replay... sometimes it helps to see perfection even if we are still far away it can give ideas...

I only wonder how i could get that close at silverstone and especially mexico.
rouen, zandvoort, spa and kyalami are into 107-110% regions
monaco, mosport and good ole nurby biting me most with 111-118%
the really best i ever managed to do was a 4.5secs away from world record at monza oval with an eagle and a setup for the monza gp circuit.
i´m still practicing on the short croft circuit. I got my laptimes there down within 3 days from 58secs to 53secs without changing setup except steer ratio.
well now back from practice reports to practice again

You'll get your lap times down in no time with the way your going.

I love to drive the Brabham for quite some time now, but setup-wise I am stuck. Sometimes I am happy to have a setup I always get back to, but now I begin to wonder why I never seem to change my setup- except for the gears, of course. Driving at Monza enables me to test things, because the track is rather uncomplicated. Now, here´s the joke: I modified my setup alot, and fiddled here and there, solely on the chassis, but last week I went back one step, and scored a new PB. I mean, I had the feeling, that a click here and there would make it handle better/faster... only that those ideas I had, turned out to change the setup back to my "base" setup again.... sheesshh, what a silly game...
Well, I will return to GPL after new years day, probably. Before that, I need to see the dentist, arrgh, and I expect a ring lap there...

After this I googled, but no results. So could someone offer me links to places where I could find kb-setups or even upload some.

Otavio is a keyboard racer. He may have some setup you could use.
Also in the setups available at the track database I've seen some keyboard setups people have submitted.
I don't remember what all tracks I saw them for. A little hunting & you'll find them.

Worthy saying that keyboard have some hints:
- change your steering ratio to 20:1, it can be weird at first, but that's the best way to be closer to a wheel input, in terms of steering angle. also, set in your core.ini the option Steering Hack, without it, 20:1 can be a problem at some tracks, specially Monaco.
- Steering linearity: usually lower values give you faster laps (bar to the right on Options screen or can be changed using GPLkeys)
- Use GPLkeys to a more friendly use of your keyboard. Just copy the executable in your GPL\players\Your_Name folder. It must be in the same place of your controls.cfg file.

Keyboard drive is the most difficult I now, specially on GPL who forces us to use the num pad !
Geeeeeee, I remember my first runs in march of 1999 without graphic card and on a 233 mhz cpu...
Spa in 6' !!
Good luck again.
